What is the best cleanser for normal to oily skin with occassional breakouts. I want something that is awesome and price does not matter as much as quality.

Colosé cleansing milk, formulated with vitamin C and E, or Colosé cleansing lotion is the best cleanser for normal and/or oily skin.

Hi. I sweat a lot (especially on my forehead). How can i make it less visible?

Excessive sweating can cause a lot of anxiety. The medical term is Hyperhidrosis. The only easy thing you can try is to apply an absobent powder such as Colosé Talc Powder Should you find that powders are not enough you will have to visit your doctor as there are precriptions powders that you can use and there is also medication that you can take. The last resort is surgery to remove the overactive sweat gland.

What's the difference between perfume, cologne, toilet water and parfum spray—other than price?

The difference in the concentrations are: Cologne is reserved for the men's field. For women, there are three basic categories of fragrance: perfume, eau de parfum and eau de toilette. Each is made up of alcohol, water and fragrance oil. At the lower level, eau de toilette, there's less fragrance oil; at the higher level, perfume, the most. You can see a wide range of men's cologne at www.makeupmyway.com

Can I wear contact lenses during a facial?

Most likely no harm will come from wearing your contacts but make sure that your esthetician knows that you are wearing contacts. Ask what products will be used during your facial. There should not be any ingredients that will irritate your eyes. Personally I would take them out to be on the safe side as you know the esthetician will be taking more precaution not to apply the facial mixture close to your eyes. She may err on the side of caution and leave too much area around the eye that will not receive the benefits of the facial.

I got a really dark tan on my face and would like to know what homemade mask can be used to make it lighter?

A quick once over with a wedge of lemon will pick up much of the excess color. No lemon handy? Use a cotton ball and a little toner, preferably with alcohol. That works too.

A simple home remedy facial mask would be using egg whites. Use warm water on your face, even wrap a warm towel around your face. A towel just out of the dryer works well. Let your face dry naturally. Mix an egg white, lemon juice and 1 teaspoon of vegetable oil. Apply this mixture to your face starting at you chin and work upward and outward. Now lie back for at least 15 minutes to 1/2 hour and then after the mixture has completely dried on your face (neck too) remove with warm water.

How come I can wash my face everynight with the same soap and my face will clear up and then about a week later after my face has cleared up my face will get pimples again? I do wear alot of make-up, I try to hide my pimples with cover up and all of that. What can i do to keep my face clear for good?

We do not recommend using soap on your face. You should either use cleansing milk or cleansing lotion. You should also use a herbal mask once or twice a week for a deep cleansing. Please take a look at our article on acne and the products offered to clear up facial imperfections such as pimples.

Does going to sleep with mascara on give your eyes fine lines?

No, but it is not wise to go to sleep with mascara on. It can cause a bacterial infection and depending on the thickness of the mascara it can get into your eye and cause red, swollen eyes in the morning, not to mention the fact that you may wake up with raccoon eyes. A simple "in a hurry" way to remove mascara before going to sleep is to use Colosé eye makeup remover pads.

I have stretch marks on my lower back and it kills me because I have tried all the `miracle` creams out there I have come to the conclusion that there are no miracles so do you know what is a good water proof concealer I can use?

The Dermablend product called "Leg & Body Cover Cream" conceals varicose veins, age spots, birthmarks, burns, scars, bruises, stretch marks, and tattoos and comes in 15 different shades. It is fragrance-free, waterproof, smudge-resistant and long-lasting - up to eight hours.

How can you get your pores unclogged and fast at home for very little money?

The fastest way to unclog pores is to do a facial or apply a face mask. A simple home remedy would be using egg whites. Use warm water on your face, even wrap a warm towel around your face. A towel just out of the dryer works well. Let your face dry naturally. Mix an egg white and a small amount of apple juice and vegetable oil, no more than one teaspoon. Apply this mixture to your face starting at you chin and work upward and outward. Now lie back for at least 15 minutes to 1/2 hour and then after the mixture has completely dried on your face (neck too) remove with warm water. Is there even a simpler way to unclogged pores? Yes, Colosé offers 5 different facial masks from green clay to herbal for acne prone skin. They are all reasonably priced and of the highest quality.

Hello, I am 36 years old, I have quite severe acne scarring on my face, very oily skin with enlarged pores & blackheads on both my middle face & my nose, I have tried several times to remove these in different ways, but it seems that due to my enlarged pores, they just keep coming back. Is there a way that I can permanantly rid myself of these black heads & minimise my pores? Please help. Jane

The number one thing you have to do is to get yourself into a daily cleansing routine. We have a special right now on the Colosé Acne Fighting System. Use these products faithfully until they are gone. Do not become discouraged the first week as you will not see any great improvement - it takes that long to bring all the impurities to the surface. You may think that it is not working, but it is. In the mean time, use concealer to hide to blackheads. You should not pop them as this can cause more scarring...BUT, if this is something you feel you must do...then first use a face cloth with warm water to soften the hardened oil. Wrap a tissue around your fingers and add pressure around the area. This will insure that you won´t have fingernail marks on your skin. It is best to have a licensed esthetician or a dermatologist remove blackheads. You must treat the underlying cause which is your pores are not "breathing properly."

Hi, I recently learned the Co enzyme Q10 is bright yellow in colour, I am wondering if my face creams that I purchase contain only trace amounts of it as my night and day cream are white in colour, surely they should be yellowish?

In its raw state Co enzyme Q10 may be deep orange/yellow in color. In cosmetics the enzyme is usually incorporated with other ingredients. Colosé Co enzyme Q10 creams incorporate the enzyme with nanoliposomes thus rendering the color of the cream white. Your conclusion is wrong. The creams with Co Q10 can definitely be white. You should be more concerned with the results of your face cream on your skin. Is is making your skin smooth and soft, is it decreasing fine lines and wrinkles? If you are not receiving good results from your face creams than perhaps it is time to switch brands. Colosé creams that contain Co enzyme Q10 are Day Cream Multiactive and Night Cream Multiactive.

I am an African American women with scars from Mosquito bites on my legs. My scar are darker than complexion. If I were to tan do you think that would hide the scars? Or should I consult a dermatologist? Or is there any products on the market that can fade the scars away to blend in with my complexion?

Tanning will not equalize the skintone on your legs. You can either try to hide the scars with concealer products such as Dermablend leg and body cover cream or a lightenting cream made by Sudden change. It is always advisable to consult a dermatologist when skin "flaws" become an issue. There is laser surgery available if you want to go that route. A dermatologist might recommend microdermabrasion. If you are at all prone to keloids though I would not recommend going the surgery route. You can read about laser surgery in our articles section.

I cleanse, tone and moisturize morning and night but I`m still very spotty is there anything I can do to get rid of my spots?

You should add a Face Cream with Retinol to your routine. Apply evenly on face and neck every morning and in the evening on cleansed skin. The cream can also be used as a base under makeup. Applied regularly to the skin it will create a smoother and rosier glow. It is used to aid in the reduction of lines, wrinkles, and to fade age spots. Colosé Cream Vitalisante with Retinol.

What is the difference and which one is better for the effectiveness and side effects for taking care skin complexion and wrinkles?

Our number one anti-wrinkle cream is Colosé Cream Egalisante. It is a collagen cream and the active ingredients are from plants so there are not any side effects. Next is our Creme Multiactive which contains Co Enzyme Q10. People have different preferences as to what cream to use. Both of the products contain superb ingredients so I can only suggest that you read about them and choose the one that appeals to you. We have no complaints on either cream and they sell equally well, both being in our top 10 products.

I`ve a Port Wine Stain birthmark. How do I conceal it? Please guide me step by step. I`ve a yellow tone skin.

I swim in a public pool and don’t want to go into the shower area afterwards, but would rather come home. However, it is a 15-20 minute drive home before I can shower off the chlorine. I really wonder if it does any good waiting that long and besides, the water at home is treated with chlorine anyway so does it really matter if I shower off at the pool? Also, should I put lotion on after I get out, or just something like baby oil? Thanks

Yes, what you are suggesting is perfectly fine. The reason is that the chlorine does not make the skin dry and/or itchy. It is being in the water for long periods of time that drys out the skin because the water removes the natural oil on the surface layer of the skin. The stored fluid in the skin cells evaporates quickly without the protection of the natural oils and that is why the skin feels dry and/or itchy after swimming. You can apply either lotion or baby oil on your skin when you get out of the pool. After getting home and taking your shower you may want to apply a more intense moisturizer like Colosé Milk of Aloe or Milk of Calendula.

My skin has developed a greyish tinge on my upper lip. It may be menopause related. What do you recommend for solving this? It makes my skin look like it`s got a dirty mark there.

Melasma is a condition in which dark areas appear on the cheeks, forehead, and lips. It can be caused by the hormonal changes associated with pregnancy or menopause and by taking oral contraceptives or hormone replacement therapy. Melasma is benign and usually will fade when the hormones are stabilized. However, you can quicken the process by using skin lighteners to even out your skin tone.

I have acne scars that you can really see if I DONT wear makeup so I wear foundation but how do I get a HEAVY COVERAGE like the stars? I want a thick coverage on my face for my scars.

You need to use a concealer along with your foundation. Colosé Cream Powder Concealer is an excellent product, but it will not give you a "heavy coverage". If this is not enough, then you should try the products offered by Dermablend, such as their Cover Cream. It can be purchased through Makeup My way.

I am 25 years old, and am an Indian. I have dark circles and fine lines/wrinkles around my eyes. For the past 4 years, I have been using concealers to try and camouflage the dark circles. Due to repeated use of concealers ( and also I didn`t know before that one is not supposed to apply too much pressure under the eyes ..), I have wrinkles under the eye now. My problem is that, I really need to use to a concealer to cover my dark circles, but using a concealer accentuates my wrinkles. How do you think I can overcome this problem? Your advise and time will be very much appreciated. Many thanks.

Moisturize around the eyes with a very good eye cream or gel containing collagen. Colosé just introduced a new eye gel called Gel Magique that is a highly advanced anti-wrinkle gel. You may also want to try a skin lightening cream such as Fade Away Dark Circles made by Sudden Change or you may want to try Dermablend Quick Fix for dark circles, both products can be found at www.makeupmyway.com. Be sure that you use a very creamy concealer. One of my favorite products is Colosé compact cream powder. It is wonderful in decreasing the appearance of dark circles. I know that age 25 is young to be considering anti-aging gels and creams but you need to be very deligent in moisturizing your skin now in order to delay the aging process.

Just recently I wore make up to a party. As soon as I got home from the party I washed my face to get rid of all the gunk. Later in the afternoon after I woke up my eyes felt slighty heavy. My eyelids, above and under my eyes looked wrinkled. I used Johnson Baby shampoo and a warm wash cloth to srub the area. This is the third time that this has happened to me. Is it caused by the brand of makeup or am I just allergic to it?

I do not think this is an allergy to your eye make-up because the area around the eye would be puffy and probably red. Perhaps the eye make-up is drying out the thin skin around the eyes. Next time try washing with a cleansing milk or cleansing cream and applying a moisturizer around your eyes afterward. I do not know of anyone washing their face with baby shampoo so I cannot give you any advice on that. But be gentle with your skin, do not "scrub" the area, rather use light finger tip circular motions around the eye. My main suggestion is to just try a different routine to see if you can rule out the cause of the wrinkles. Perhaps some cleansing wipes made specifically for make-up removal would come in handy for you.

I have dark black marks around my lips how should I hide them? I have tried foundation but it doesn`t work and I can`t find any concealers with my skin color what should I do?

You should try the Dermablend Compact Cover Crème and/or Dermablend Cover Creme Foundation. There are 20 color shades to choose from. Both products can be found at www.makeupmyway.com

I`m 22 and I have pretty clear skin (combination) with the occassional hormonal breakout. I find that I need very light moisturizers for sensitive skin when I do use moisturizers. I would like I use some sort of anti-wrinkle cream for my eyes as a preventitive measure, but everything I`ve tried (Oil of Olay, Mac, Almay) gives me pimples, which I never get there otherwise. Any suggestions? I would also like to know of a very very light facial sunblock to wear under my make up or alone that won`t give me pimples or feel greasy or heavy.

Colosé makes some exceptional products for sensitive skin. The first is Creme Sensitive. It contains Jojoba oil, known to protect the skin against dehydration, Avocado oil to protect against dryness, Chamomile which provides soothing to stressed and sore skin, Horse Chestnut, which strengthens capillary resistance which in turn is very beneficial for fine blotchy skin, a Vitamin Complex and Sun Filter UVA, which protects against sun radiations and premature aging of collagen. The second product that we recommend is Milk of Avocado which is especially formulated for dry and sensitive skin. Our tinted suncreen cream is an ideal product to use under makeup or alone. It is a lightly tinted sun cream which gives a healthy appearance to the skin. It protects against ultraviolet A and B rays. It also contains Shea Butter which nourishes the skin. Colosé tinted suncream is suitable for all skin types and can be used as a makeup foundation.

Some moisturizers give me pimples. What is a good moisturizer for dry and sensitive skin? I also wear cover-up and was wondering what was the best kind name of cover-up.

Please see previous answer regarding Creme Sensitive. A good cover up is Colosé Compact Cream Concealer. You will love it!

I have very dark skin but I`m not African, how can I lighten my skin with home made recipes?

First, let me say that I have not tried this, but in my search for an answer for you I found this tip: Squeeze half a lemon and mix the juice with one beaten egg white. Leave on your face overnight or, for a quick pick-me-up, just 15 minutes. Splash warm water on your face to rinse. It helps to removes blotches, because the lemon works as a bleaching agent. The tip is for a homemade facial. But I do know that lemon juice can be applied to facial hair to lighten it. I do not know if lemon juice can lighten skin, but it is always worth a try before purchasing a commercial skin lightening cream.

I am 22yrs girl with lot of hair on chin and face sides...they look very bad in sunlight..that is why I am always depressed..please help me out.

You have several options to decrease the appearance of facial hair. There are invisible beaching creams such as Invisi-Bleach and hair removal creams such as Nair. Depilatory creams dissolve the hair at the base of the follicle. They are ideal for widespread areas (like the legs), but can be problematic when used on the face because they irritate the skin and usually don't remove all of the hairs. On the plus side, depilatory creams are a relatively inexpensive option. On average, results will last for one to two weeks. A new product called Sheer Splendor claims to remove unwanted hair and stop the growth of new hair by chemically weakening the follicles until the hair simply stops growing back. (Note: we have not tested this products ourselves). Waxing really does make your hair grow in lighter over time because the wax gets into the hair follicle and pulls the hair from the root so it grows back less thick than when the shaft is shaved. Laser procedures can be permanent or can be used more as a "laser waxing," or temporary hair removal.

Before you decide on the proper removal method, however, first determine that the cause of the hair growth is not hormonal. If you are experiencing an abnormal growth of hair on the face or if the hair is very thick, you should consult your physician to determine the underlying causes before you embark on a removal regimen.

I wear a lot of stage makeup and the heat of the lights pushes that makeup into my pores. My pores are really cloged and developing blackheads. I don`t know how to get rid of them. I am freaking out. My skin looks horrible. Please help. Thanks

One of the most important cosmetic tasks is to assist the natural skin's scaling process by removing dead cells completely. Without proper care, the old cells will combine with skin oils and clog pores causing blackheads and pimples. You will need to do more than just a general cleansing routine as you need a deep cleansing at least twice a week. To accomplish this you will need to get in the habit of faithfully using a face mask. Using a face mask with Calendula added will be beneficial for you as Calendula aids in the elimination of toxic residue from the skin.

You may want to take a look at the product description for Colosé Herbal Mask as it contains the ingredients you need to rid your complexion of blackheads.

What Is Chamomile?

Also calms eczema and allergic reactions. It is used in many hair care products to enhance color. It acts as an emollient, anti-inflammatory, skin soothing agent and provides antioxidation.
