Top Tips and Advice: Cosmetic Application

1. Tip: 8 Step Cosmetic Application Cosmetic application begins with moisturizer. The next make up application is your foundation. Blend foundation with a damp sponge, avoiding a line between jaw and neck. Sweep a bit of blush across your cheekbones. The next cosmetic application is eyeshadow. One coat of mascara is plenty. It won't clump unless you put on two or three. Line your lips with a lip pencil the same color as your lipstick. Brush on your lipstick to get it into your lips' crevices and make it last longer. Complete your make up application with a quick dusting of loose powder.

2. Tip: Cosmetic Application of Blush Need some make up application tips for blush? Cosmetic application of blush is your last step after foundation, eye color and lipstick. Cosmetic application of blush should use a color similar to what your cheeks look like after you've been out in the cold or exercising. For daytime cosmetic application, choose a lighter color than you would at night. Powder blush is best for oily and combo skin. Cream for dry skin. Liquid and gel for oily skin.

3. Tip: Brushes and Cosmetic Application Many cosmetic application tips involve cosmetic brushes. If you use several colors on the same brush without cleaning it, you may get a muddled shade you never wanted. Dirty brushes harbor bacteria and can grow mold if you use them wet and don't allow them to dry thoroughly. Also, standing your brushes on end may ruin the bristles, so always store them flat or with the handle down.

4. Tip: Transfer Resistant Lips When using a smudge proof or transfer resistant lip color you usually have to wait a few minutes for it to set to become smudge proof. To set your color quickly simply rub your lips together briefly and this will set the color. The waiting time for smudge proof is to give the color time to set, when you rub your lips together you are setting the color into your lips!

5. Tip: Help for uneven lips No one is perfect. If your lips have uneven lines you can even them out. Using your lip liner, line your lips to where they appear even. You may have to draw a lip where there isnīt one. After you have lined your lips, fill in the entire lined area with your liner prior to applying your color. This will prevent your shape from fading. This is not easy. It will take practice but once you have found your line shape you will be able to repeat it with no problem. Take your time when finding your shape it will happen!

6.Tip: Cosmetic Application on the Apple Cosmetic application of blush centers on the "apple". Look into the mirror and smile. Make up application involves a sweep of color in an arc along your cheekbone from the apple to your hairline. Keep color light & blended. If your cosmetic application involves a gel blush, dab a dot on the apple and two smaller dots graduating up the cheekbone. Blend the dots together up to the hairline. Cosmetic application tips for too much blush: Powder blush, apply some translucent powder over it. Cream blush, blot off with tissue. Since gel & liquid blush "stain" cheeks, the best make up applications tips are to wash your face and reapply moisturizer and foundation. Using powder blush? Always sweep it in one direction. Going over & over or around and around causes streaks and can hurt your brush. For a sexy look, dab a little shimmery blush on the highest point of your cheekbone nearest your eye.

7. Tip: Clean Cosmetic Application Cosmetic application is easier with clean cosmetic brushes. When you apply make up, your brushes become soiled from the make up and oils on your skin. The bristles may clump together and hinder your make up application. To make make up application easier, clean your brushes often. Run them under lukewarm water, lather in some shampoo and rinse thoroughly. Lay the brushes down with the bristles over the edge of a counter, sink or cabinet to dry. That way, the air surrounds them and they will dry fluffy and evenly.

8. Tip: Sharpening Pencils Try placing your eye and lip pencils in the freezer about 15 minutes before sharpening them. They will harden, and wonīt break as easily.

------------------------------

9. Tip: Prolonging Lip Color To keep your lip color from fading, fill in your lip area with your liner prior to applying your lip color. This will give your lip color something to grab on to and help make it last!

------------------------------

10. Tip: Help for FULL lips If you feel like your lips are too full there is a trick for lining them that will reduce them. When lining your lips line them just inside the natural line. If you want to hold the shape fill in your lips with the liner prior to applying your color. This little tip makes a big difference.
